Chuck, Pam, and Jim

I admit that I do love me some Gossip Girl. It's incredibly soapy and fun, and there actually is some really good acting on there. And the CW did an awesome thing by having a Chuck-centric promo to the new Britney Spears single, "Womanizer." I actually wasn't a huge Chuck fan before; just didn't see the appeal. It was less "love to hate" or "hate to love" than just "hate." But his appeal has been growing on me lately. However, things will be thrown at the tv if he winds up romantically involved with Vanessa.

In less dirrrty news, there was a nice blurb in the Washington Post today about how The Office folks set up the Jim-Pam proposal scene. I'm not sure why Pam is still in New York (wasn't it an 8-week course?), but the relationship seems to be progressing realistically. Jim and Pam's relationship isn't perfect, but they ultimately do know who they are. It makes perfect sense for Jim to freak out a bit at Pam being away and having fun...but he did the right thing in the end. Seemed spot on.

I do want Pam back in Scranton, though. ASAP.

Well, I can see Logan in politics...

I had a teensy bit of interest in HBO doing a show based on the whole Washingtonienne saga, but my interest skyrocketed when I saw that they had cast Jason Dohring, a.k.a. Logan Echolls from Veronica Mars. Looks like the show will be less about the lead's sexual conquests and more about working on the Hill.

In any case, it's not enough to get me to subscribe to HBO, but Dohring is so awesome, I hope it's successful. Also, with any luck, they'll do some shooting around here!

PCHer and MLB catcher

I've been trying to figure out why Dioner Navarro, catcher for the Tampa Bay Rays, keeps ringing a bell in my head. Since the Rays and the O's are both in the AL East, I've certainly seen Navarro enough, but now...his name just keeps sticking out in my mind! But why?

And then I realized. Navarro. On Veronica Mars, Weevil's last name is also Navarro. And since I just watched VM this year, it explains why I never gave Dioner Navarro a second thought last year. So I feel better now.

Go Rays!

Best thing about As Good As It Gets

There was a really nice profile of Greg Kinnear in the Washington Post today. I've loved him since Talk Soup (and yes, of course I still watch The Soup). I had problems with the Sabrina remake because I found Kinnear way more appealing than Harrison Ford. (I had the same problems with the original, considering my crush on William Holden.) I haven't caught everything he's done, but Kinnear picks such interesting movies, and it's such an incredibly wide range of characters. Plus, he comes off as just insanely likeable. Hearts, Greg Kinnear!
